NOW THAT STARTRAC GPS HAS BEEN INSTALLED IN MY, WHAT DO I DO NEXT?
Your StarTrac GPS authorized dealer may have helped you select a personalized User Name and Password. First go to the StarTracGPS website (www.StarTracgps.com) and enter your User Name and Password; then click the GO button. At the vehicle interaction page, select your vehicle. The functions installed on your device will be listed on the left side of the screen. First fill in the information concerning your vehicle, by clicking the Device Toolbar, then "Manage > Descriptions". Enter the information on your vehicle. This information is kept confidential.
IMPORTANT: Remember to update your profile should any information change.

HOW DOES THE SYSTEM SEND ME AN E-MAIL OR TEXT MESSAGE ALERT?
You will be required to provide an e-mail address and mobile phone number to receive e-mail or text message alerts. When an alert is sent from your StarTrac GPS device, it will be automatically sent to the address or phone number you provided. Please be sure that the e-mail address and/or phone number you entered is working; click the "Send a test alert" button to verify this.

HOW DO I USE THE SPECIAL COMMANDS, LIKE UNLOCKING MY DOORS?
Special commands, like unlocking my doors are optional functions you may have purchased with your device. To use special commands click on the command you wish to activate. When you click on your selection, the system will start the transmitting process. This could take up to 2 minutes. You will see a moving graphic and a message that the request is being processed. Once completed, your request will be displayed with a map location indicating that the command has been acknowledged. HOW DO I LOCATE MY VEHICLE?
StarTrac GPS tracks your vehicle in real-time. To find your vehicle's location click on the "Locate" button. The location process can take up to two minutes. Once the command has been completed, a map will be displayed. Your vehicle's position can be identified by locating the icon on the map screen. The time of message, approximate street address, the vehicle's direction, and its current speed are displayed.

HOW ACCURATE IS THE POSITION OF THE ICON SHOWING MY VEHICLE'S LOCATION ON THE MAP?
The latitude and longitude returned by your vehicle is accurate to within 30 meters or about 100 feet (95% of the time). It is normal for there to be some "drift" between each location request, but it should not exceed this amount.

CAN I SEE WHERE MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE LAST DAY OR TWO?
Yes, in fact you can run a history report on your vehicle from a few hours to as far back as six months. Any over-the-air communication with the device will be displayed in the vehicle's history. See the History Report section of the System Tutorial for instructions.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CAR IS STOLEN?
You are required to file a police report in order to authenticate your identity as the vehicle owner; record the incident, and initiate retrieval of your vehicle. StarTrac GPS tracking device allows you to update and report the vehicle's last known position to authorities while the theft is in progress. With real time location reports the police can track, stop and recover the vehicle. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RETRIEVE THE VEHICLE YOURSELF. ALLOW ONLY AUTHORIZED LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL TO RECOVER THE VEHICLE.

IF MY CAR DOESN'T HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM, WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO KNOW IF MY CAR HAS BEEN TAMPERED WITH?
Yes. Even without the benefit of an alarm system, StarTrac GPS incorporates the use of Geomarker technology to help safeguard your vehicle from being stolen or used without your authorization. The Geomarker works like an electronic fence that is set around your car. If your car moves outside this Geomarker, you will receive a notification of this event automatically. However, unless you have a separate alarm system that has been installed and connected to your vehicle, you will not have the benefit of an alarm notifying you of an intrusion or vandalism to the vehicle.

I AM CONCERNED ABOUT PRIVACY. HOW IS MY INFORMATION PROTECTED?
We take privacy very seriously. Only after we have verified your identity will we provide vehicle location or user profile information to you. Our tracking site is built with the latest in internet security to prevent unauthorized access to your personal information. All data resides on secure servers and is not released for any reason without your express written consent, as stipulated in the terms and conditions of your Service Agreement.

I WOULD LIKE TO MODIFY MY SUBSCRIPTION PACKAGE, HOW DO I DO THIS AND WHAT IS THE COST?
If you have signed up for our Basic Service Plan, you can simply upgrade your service by adding any of the available options online by clicking the "Refill Exchanges" button, or you can call StarTrac GPS at 800-318-9344 and speak to one of our agents.

MY STARTRAC GPS AGREEMENT HAS ALMOST EXPIRED. HOW DO I NEED TO DO TO RENEW MY SUBSCRIPTION?
All agreements will automatically renew without any action on your part, provided that your credit card information is on file and current. You can also log onto the StarTrac GPS website and select the tab "Renew my Subscription". You can then select you renewal choice, and complete the billing information.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY SUBSCRIPTION IF I SELL MY VEHICLE?

If you sell your GPS equipped vehicle, please email us at support@startracgps.com and we will transfer your device to a new vehicle subscription. It is important to notify us so we don't continue to mail you notices or inadvertently bill you. Please note that the new owner will be required to cover any service fees which may be associated with a vehicle transfer.

WHERE DO I ENTER MY VEHICLE INFORMATION?
When you click on "Descriptions" in the Device Toolbar, you will find an area to enter and save vehicle information. Fill in all details on the vehicle profile and then click the "Update" button. You will also find an area to update your Login Password. * Remember, your Login ID and Password should be safeguarded at all times to avoid unauthorized use of your StarTrac GPS account.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY PERSONAL OR VEHICLE INFORMATION?

By accessing the Internet, you can modify your vehicle's information, your personal information, or your password. Alternatively, our Customer Service representatives can assist you in changing personal or contact information. By keeping your information current, we guarantee the best possible response to any requests that may arise in connection with your StarTrac GPS system.

CAN I INSTALL MY STARTRAC GPS DEVICE IN ANOTHER VEHICLE?
Yes, you can remove our GPS device and install in another vehicle at any time. You may want to change the Vehicle Information should you choose to do so (see Edit Description).

WHEN I INITIATED A REQUEST I GOT A MESSAGE BACK SAYING THE UNIT WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE REQUEST, WHY?
StarTrac GPS works with the cellular communications system in the same way as a cellular phone. Wireless signals are not always of uniform quality. When the signal is weak or the vehicle is out of the area where cellular coverage is available, you may not be able to connect or a call may become disconnected. Wait a few minutes and resend the command to try to get a connection.

WHAT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DEVICE IN MY CAR?
StarTrac GPS runs diagnostic tests on your unit every month to ensure it is working properly. If you suspect there is a problem or are unable to get a response from the StarTrac GPS device, please go to your installing dealer. Our technical support department will diagnose your unit and test it while it's still in your car. However, should there be a problem that needs to be addressed by an installation professional; your authorized StarTrac GPS dealer can provide assistance.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON THE STARTRAC GPS SYSTEM?
All StarTrac GPS devices come with a one (1) year limited warranty. See the Terms and Conditions Agreement for more details.

WILL THE StarTrac GPS UNIT WORK IF THE CAR BATTERY IS DEAD?
It can, but only if you purchase and have installed the optional back-up battery for your device.
